Since our founding in July 2003 by local folkie John Mills, Minchinhampton Folk Club has given enormous pleasure to thousands of singers, players, listeners and joiners-in from the four corners of the British Isles as well as further afield. We call ourselves a folk club because people understand how folk clubs work, but we are by no means just about folk music. Each Thursday night from about 8.15, the rafters ring to the sound of modern and traditional folk, blues, country, jazz, classical, bluegrass – in fact, all kinds of music.

At MFC we believe in encouraging new performers and fresh talent – just turn up, introduce yourself and play. We don’t expect you to be accomplished, just to do your best and enter into the spirit of the evening.

We now meet in the Maypole Room at the Old Crown, Paganhill, Stroud (for full details see the news and info pages). The music starts at 8.15 and finishes at about 11. Requested donation £2 on entry, for everyone please.

Join us from 8.15 every Thursday in the Maypole Room at

the Old Crown, off Stratford Road, Paganhill, GL5 4AZ

Thursday March 23

STOP PRESS - at very short notice we've been given the opportunity to welcome this renowned Celtic duo to the club THIS THURSDAY - they have volunteered to do a full set 'for the door' after the cancellation of a gig elsewhere. As it's such short notice, and to avoid disappointing people who may turn up expecting a singers' night, we are not charging for tickets - it's just the usual £2 minimum donation, but we hope you'll feel are worth considerably more. All takings will go to the band. More on our Facebook page.
